Hello, This is Dr. M, your hydrogel specialist.
In recent conversations with cosmetics brand managers, one concern comes up more
often than any other: an interest in launching a hydrogel product, paired with
considerable difficulty in finding a manufacturer to produce it.
The enthusiasm around hydrogel in the market has rarely been stronger - and yet,
within many brands, this production concern remains largely unspoken. Today, we
would like to share more about the production challenges behind the category's
rapid growth, and the approach OTCM has developed in response.

point 1
Hydrogel Mask : A Growing Market, and a Growing
Challenge
|
|
Since gaining attention on U.S. social media in 2022, hydrogel masks have expanded
well beyond the domestic market, reaching major retail channels in the United
States and establishing themselves as a significant format within the global
skincare industry.
However, manufacturing capacity has struggled to keep pace with this growth. A
number of established manufacturers are no longer accepting new orders, or are
quoting lead times of six months or longer. For brands hoping to enter this market
at the right moment, lead time has become more than a scheduling detail — it may
determine whether a launch is possible at all.

OTCM's Current Production Capabilities
|
|
In response to rising demand, OTCM has established two dedicated hydrogel
production lines, along with sheet-processing and patch-expansion
facilities.
This allows for a production capacity of approximately 1.7 million sheets per month,
or up to 24 million sheets annually, supporting a range of formats beyond face
masks,
including:

We would be glad to support not only a single product launch, but the future
expansion of your hydrogel or patch category as well.

Why Consider OTCM for Your Hydrogel Line
|
|
Our dedicated hydrogel facilities and specialized team are involved from the
earliest stages of product planning, allowing for an efficient path from sample to
mass production.
Prompt sample turnaround for formulation
testing and
marketing review
A production timeline of approximately 3–4
weeks once the formula and packaging are confirmed
An efficient overall process, allowing roughly three months from initial inquiry to
finished product
Should development begin now, we would be able to plan toward a mid-December
delivery.
While the typical MOQ for gel masks is around 80,000 units, OTCM is able to offer a
more flexible MOQ of approximately 20,000 units, in consideration of early market
testing and inventory risk.
We hope this allows brands — whether testing a new product or expanding an existing
hydrogel line — to move forward with greater ease.

OTCM's production lines were designed from the outset with OTC drug manufacturing
standards in consideration. Our line structure and environmental controls are
intended to minimize contamination risk and maintain a stable production
environment, and we are well positioned to support brands considering future
expansion into the North American OTC category.

Point 4
|
As the hydrogel market continues to grow, we believe that production flexibility and
timing are just as important as the product itself in determining a brand's launch
strategy. Particularly in an already established category, the ability to enter the
market quickly and scale in line with consumer demand is essential.
OTCM would welcome the opportunity to support your hydrogel or patch project — from
concept and formulation through sampling, production, and launch timing.
Should you be considering a hydrogel mask or patch product, we would be pleased to
begin the conversation with you.
