Why Have Mineral Sunscreens Relied on Chemical Boosters?
Mineral UV filters exist as discrete physical particles. When applied to the skin, gaps naturally form between these particles, allowing UV rays to penetrate. Historically, the industry has tackled this issue in one of two ways :

1. Adding Chemical Boosters:

Incorporating organic boosters like BOS in small amounts to chemically fill the gaps between mineral particles.

2. Overloading Mineral Filters:
